My inspiration will be my downfall
(Edited at 7:36 pm of the same day) Yes, well, I should have been packing, but I had to know if Rachel still wanted to crochet dragons. She did. So of course I had to get her her own set of instructions! After all, mine have been modified and scribbled on and mutilated (I used Ziggy's throwing knife to make tally marks keeping track of which row I was on). She needed her own! So using google, I once again located the free pattern (doesn't include wings, but hey, you can't beat the price). I was amazed to find that the same site has free patterns for a Unicorn, a Pegasus, a chair pincushion, and two snoods. Snoods aside, the rest was fascinating. Then following up on a whim, I decided to look for knit patterns for Marvin (as seen during a short knit scene in the recent Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy film). I was unimpressed. The commercially produced Marvins are too flat, which of course is easier for a knitting machine, but still... dissappointing. And the one homemade one that had a good picture available had very obviously been tied. Rather than increasing/decreasing to make the head they just gathered the stitches at the top and tied something around the neck. This works but is not what I had in mind. I may just resort to crocheting, it's easier to make spherical shapes + I've got patterns for a crocheted bear and for crocheted peas, between the two, I expect something resembling Marvin could be done.

yes, very expressive, I just have no idea what it means... the person could be crying? or a mime?
