A good day.
Well, it sounds like Grace is settling in happily. Her roommate still hasn't arrived, but other than that and they crazy orientation schedule (back to back meetings all this evening) things are great.
I had a lazy sort of lonely day which improved vastly towards the end. I unpacked one box... there are four left, and I realize this is horrible, but don't particularly feel inspired to remedy the situation immediately. I ad-libbed dinner - fried half a bell pepper and a medium potato, added a can of stewed tomatos, waited forever for the potato to stop being crunchy, added possibly too much spinach, added ground turkey, and cooked noodles to have with this lovely concoction. It was good. And then, after dinner, Dad took me to a church parking lot to learn how to cut donuts! Yes, he's incredible. It was fun. After that, Mom, Dad, and I sat in the living room and read all the jokes out of the new Reader's Digest that came today. *sighs happily* And now... I need to decide whether to play Alpha Centauri, go to sleep, or read The Long Patrol... oh, I've recovered from the Sims Unleashed phase... I think... *knocks on desk*

So, how DO you cut donuts?
first, you need a rear wheel drive vehicle... then you need a flat open space (large empty parking lots are ideal for this)... then it should be wet or muddy or icy... once you have all these things, you drive in circles and floor the accelerator, going into a somewhat controlled skid.
And here I thought you were going to tell me the proper, correct way to cut a sugar glazed.
