looking back on the first week...

It was good. Yes, I'm still not thrilled to get up at 6, but it was really nice sleeping in till nine today. Yes, I will probably get sick of the drive to Columbia, but at least I won't get lost, and I found a way to circumvent the train, so potential calamity has been averted. For the coming week I'm going to try burning a cd of approximately the same length as the trip consisting of songs I haven't heard for a while. After that, I will need to see what the library has in the way of books on tape. So far Java has swiftly moved from mindnumbing review (what is hardware and software etc.) to fairly interesting stuff. They keep mentioning classes which I'm sure we worked with at LeTourneau, but were never very well explained. One phrase that keeps showing up is "Just think of it as magic until it's explained better." *grins*
And Romans! Romans is going to be beautiful! Renate is incredible! I have good classmates! However, it's hard not to get carried away on the discussion board. Ah well, *grins* Oh, and Tank and Wilson, thanks for the comments. It was just a short blip of sadness, but I blogged during it, which may not have been the best idea.

Grace beat me at Lord of the Rings last night, but at least I made it to site five. Then mom read to us from this biography she picked up in the library. It was very humorous, and we enjoyed laughing together. I think I would like reading with people more often.
We're having PANCAKES TODAY! :D
