Alright, I'm up

The first sound I heard this morning was a high pitched beep. My initial thought was one of scorn and derision, "like that's going to wake anyone up." And then the beeping continued, and continued, at regular excruciating intervals. I woke to the fire alarm in my room going off as well as the carbon monoxide detector just outside my door. *sighs* Mom replaced the batteries in my fire alarm and opened the back door till it got cold in the house. The carbon monoxide detector isn't going off anymore, and the birds both appear to be fine. *sighs* It's just not a fun way to wake up in the morning, particularly when all one remembers of carbon monoxide poisoning symptoms is drowsiness and one is decidedly drowsy.
In other news, I finished reading my seventh Charles Williams novel, The Place of the Lion. And I think I need to reread it.
Pirates is going well. The bug parts shall not be mine till summer, since Dad is waiting until then so the paint job will go better. However, that's probably best since I don't really want to start on them yet.
