Rubber Mallet :D

Alright, so I got up earlier than I intended to which was still fairly late compared to when I got up during the last semester. And after some time on the computer, I was recruited to prepare pancakes. It has been a while, that is to say, the first four were very well done, that is to say slightly carcinogenic, that is to say an unappetizing shade of singed. The rest turned out well, and after a leisurely breakfast, Dad and I went to work on the bug. The hood had been crinkled so that it could't be opened for a very long time and three out of four fenders are dented. Part of Dad's Christmas gift to Mom is a new hood and four new fenders. Unfortunately, one of the fenders had to be back ordered and so actually replacing these parts will be done later. Today, Dad put a hole in the current hood to get it open, then we unbolted it from it's hinges, took it around back, removed the handle and trim. Then came the fun part - hammering it back into shape with a rubber mallet. *grins* It turned out looking fairly decent, if a bit crinkley. Then I was sent to Walmart for grocery type stuff (picked up craft stuff for myself as well) while Dad got stuff to fix the hole he'd put in the hood (duct tape was discussed, but he used some fiberglass stuff). Then we had barbequed chicken for dinner :) with corn on the cob :D and brocolli :( in a lovely rice casserole :). (And I had a little too much fun with misused punctuation) Then we went and looked at lights while listening to music from Annie Get your Gun and Singing in the Rain. Swan Lake was lovely this year. Then we went on a search for eggnogg. Every grocery store we went to was closed and we finally got it at a gas station. Drank eggnogg and opened one present. This year it wasn't pajamas! Finally! At last! A Christmas eve present that wasn't pajamas! And my sister is the most wonderful sister in the whole wide world and I don't deserve her! Merry Christmas Eve!
(Oh, and I have dibs on the old hood and fenders. :D They shall be ... something, not sure what. I'm thinking very interesting chair with cool armrests... but we shall see what if anything becomes of them.)

Yes, Merry Christmas indeed... but you'd better do something cool with those fenders or I will but very disappointed

Fiber glass, fun stuff. Yeha, you will have to keep us updated on what you do with the VW body parts.
